Fine Art Portraits

A portrait is an artistic representation of a person where the face and its expression are predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. It usually shows a person looking directly at the photographer, in order to engage the subject with the viewer.

This photograph depicts a miner smoking a cigarette during a break between his shifts. I really like this picture, I think that the man's expression communicates a lot, especially his eyes. I also like the contrast between his skin and the black on his face and hands, it makes the picture very intense.

This is a portrait of Audrey Hepburn in a bathing suit. I really like her expression and the contrast between black and white makes her even more beautiful.
